INSIGHT

IDEA

Historically, undergarments were made to restrict and reshape the female form to fit an ideal. Today, modern women prioritize comfort without sacrificing style.

Cou Cou Intimates has bridged the gap between traditional lingerie and everyday underwear. This spring, the brand unveils a collection that reimagines historical undergarments through a modern lens. Drawing inspiration from the craftsmanship of eighteenth-century France, the campaign honors tradition while redefining it for the contemporary woman.

COLLECTION

The collection will take traditional undergarments—such as bloomers, chemise, petticoats, corset covers, and stockings—and reinvent them for the modern wearer.

VISUAL WORLD

The campaign’s visual aesthetic draws from 18th-century French art and culture, reimagined through a fresh, modern lens. Inspired by the frivolous, romantic spirit of Rococo, the world feels light, playful, and indulgent through soft pastels and ornate details. Nature is woven throughout the imagery with florals, garden settings, and open light, reinforcing a sense of freedom and softness. The result is a world that feels expressive and unrestrained: historically rooted, yet unmistakably modern in its confidence and comfort.

EVENT LAUNCH

The campaign will debut at La Grande Bal Masqué, held each June at the Château de Versailles. A setting once defined by rigid dress codes will become a backdrop to reframe undergarments not as tools of restriction, but as symbols of comfort and freedom. To mark the launch, Cou Cou Intimates will invite a curated group of influencers as brand guests who will attend an intimate pre-ball fitting where they are styled in pieces from the collection to be worn beneath their gowns.

SOCIAL

The campaign unfolds on social through a series of single-shot video vignettes that bring 18th-century French portraits and genre paintings to life. Each scene begins as a still, staged composition before subtly coming to life through movement, personality, and story. Each short film will depict different women styled in pieces from the collection, reimagining iconic artworks through a modern lens that celebrates comfort, individuality, and freedom.
